Über den/die AutorIn

Dr Philip Esterhuizen was a Lecturer in the School of Healthcare at the University of Leeds where he taught undergraduate and postgraduate students. After professional experience in a number of countries, his work included nurses at all levels where he taught and facilitated learning in a wide range of settings. By incorporating personal philosophies of care and caring into the facilitated sessions he supported reflection, promoted awareness and stimulated the development of personal caring attitudes in relation to the individual practitioner's daily experiences.

Reflection and reflective practice have been central to Philip's research, which incorporated the principles of confluent education linked to the professional socialisation of nurses.
