Liu Wei, Ph.D. in Economics, Professor. He is the Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Renmin University of China. His main research fields are socialist political economy with Chinese characteristics, economic development and economic growth theory, etc. He has published more than 300 academic papers and dozens of academic works. He has independently presided over some social science fund projects at the national level and of the Ministry of Education. He started to enjoy the State Council special allowance in 1992. In 1997, he was selected for the "Cross-Century Talent Training Program in Humanities and Social Sciences" (first batch) of the Ministry of Education. In 2004, he was selected for a national-level New Century Ten-Million Talent Project jointly organized by the Ministry of Personnel, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Education. He was hired as a Changjiang Scholar (Distinguished Professor) in 2005.
